MtuKampuni is a Berkelee trained music producer and record engineer — a songwriter, singer and rapper based in Nairobi, Kenya.
He describes himself as a genreless artist with an experimental sound. His music is influenced by Hip-Hop, Afro Pop, Benga, Gospel and Dancehall to name just a few.
Growing up in a musical family, he developed an early taste for good music from home and in church where he honed his skills.
MtuKampuni is a founding member of Kisima and Groove Award winning, legendary Kenyan gospel group, Voices United Choir (VUC).
A consummate stage performer, MtuKampuni was once a part of The Villagers band, a well renowned music group in Nairobi’s LIVE music scene. His contributions to the group were as a songwriter and vocalist. MtuKampuni has released four solo albums.
