Richard Kasika

About

Richard was encouraged to keenly listen to music by his parents who were expatriate missionaries in Nairobi, Kenya in the 1980’s. Those early forays into music appreciation turned quickly into child-play tinkering with his father’s analog tape recorders, and then digital music programming on early computers.

A brief overseas trip to attend a music awards ceremony in the United States where he’d been nominated and awarded as an international artist in 2004 extended into a two-year college enrollment where he studied audio production. Making Richard a singer-songwriter, and producer extraordinaire.

His vocal sensibilities and message have been cultured through what he describes as very humble Baptist Church roots. Richard credits this humble nurturing for turning him into the versatile artist that he is today — not just a musician but a filmmaker and photographer as well.
